Gymkhana

Returning for 2010 is a Gymkhana day for children and adults alike!

There will be a series of the traditional mounted games, with a Mounted Games Champions Trophy for the rider who accumulates the most points.

All mounted games will be split into 3 age sections: Lead Rein, Rider 14 years and younger and Rider 15 years and older.

There will also be the ever popular Fun Show classes running throughout the day.

Mounted Games

Rosettes will be awarded for 1st to 6th place, special rosettes for those not placed and a carrot for all equines! Games are £3 per game.

Points for the Mounted Games Champions Trophy will be awarded according to placings obtained in each game (1st place = 10 points through to 6th place = 5 points). The rider with the most points at the end of the games will win the Mounted Games Champions Trophy.

A - Ride and Lead (Start 9.30) Ride from A to B, dismount and lead back to A.

B - Stepping Stones (to follow) Ride from A to B, dismount and complete a course of raised stepping stones, remount and ride back to A.

C - Walk, Trot, Gallop (to follow) Ride in walk from B to A, trot from A to B, gallop from B to A (lead rein section dismount and run from B to A).

D - Bending Poles (to follow) Ride through 5 bending poles from A to B, then back through the poles to A.

E - Flag Race (to follow) Ride from A to B, collect a flag, ride back to B and put the flag into bucket. Repeat until all flags are in the bucket.

F - Mug Race (to follow) Pick up a mug from bending pole 1 and put it on pole 4, then pick up a mug from pole 2 and put it on pole 3, then ride back to A.

G - Ball & Bucket (to follow) Ride from A to B, dismount and pick up a vball, ride back to B and put the ball in the bucket at A. Repeat until all balls have been collected.

H - Egg & Spoon (to follow) Ride from A to B, collect an egg, carry it on a spoon from B to A.

 

Fun Ring

Rosettes awarded for 1st – 10th place, prize plaque to the winner, special rosettes to those not placed and a carrot for all equines!

This ring is purely a fun ring – please enter into the spirit of it! There will be two judges who will be judging jointly based solely on their own personal opinions.

All classes are open to all horses and ponies, any age, in hand or ridden, and any riders unless stated to the contrary. The Fun Ring is £3 per class.

There is no championship class for this ring.

K        Best Behaved Youngster (Estimated start 2.30pm)

L        Judge’s Favourite (Estimated start 3pm)

 

Clear Round Ring

A Clear Round Ring will operate throughout the day, starting with bottom hole at 9.30 and progressing throughout the day. Rosettes to all clear rounds. Clear Round is £3 per round.
