Daisy is sired by the International Grand Prix stallion Lingh (www.lingh.nl/uk/index.htm),
who was Dutch Dressage Champion, World Cup Reserve Champion and Athens
Olympic team member. This is a unique bloodline as Lingh was not long
licensed when he was sold to the USA, and therefore there are not many
of his offspring in Europe.
Her dam, Zananke, is sired by the recently deceased International Grand
Prix stallion Ferro (www.elitedressagestallions.co.uk/stallions-ferro.htm),
who was Olympic Silver Medallist and Dressage World Cup Champion, and
sire of many Champion and Grand Prix Stallions and Champion mares. Her
dam is a Ster graded mare by Inspekteur, who was twice European Gold Medallist.
In November 2007 Daisy was also awarded the coveted Oldenburg Verband
Foal Premium grading, and the German judges especially liked her dressage
'type', and commented that she had very good conformation and exceptional
temperament.
Daisy takes after her dam, and is very kind, affectionate and friendly
(and always hungry!). She takes everything in her stride and is very calm
and sensible. She does not often waste energy running around, and prefers
instead to pack in as much eating time as possible! We are hoping she
will continue to be as easy and talented as her dam, and will also make
a lovely riding horse and broodmare in the future.
Over the summer 2008 Daisy has grown enormously, and she will be starting
her in hand work over the winter to prepare her for the Youngstock Championships
next summer.
